Yuzu is a bumpy, sunshine yellow citrus known for its vibrant personality. This Yuzu comes from the Kochi prefecture in Japan from an area called the Yuzu Road. Once a logging railroad, the bare mountainous sides were rejuvenated in the 1960s by planting Yuzu orchards.
Yuzu favours span the lemon, mandarin-orange spectrum, with hints of grapefruit and fragrant honeysuckle blossoms. Yuzu is infused into Dream Machine, a dark chocolate we make with cacao beans from our favourite farms and growing regions. Just add heat to make a rich, melty hot chocolate that will wake your sniffer and taste buds up fully.
It’s easy to make. For 2 servings...
Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in small saucepan. Add 6 tablespoons of dry mix. Reduce heat to a simmer and whisk until thick and smooth. This is your liquid chocolate.
Serve 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate “as is” in a shot glass for an intense shot.
For a traditional mug, add 3/4 cup of warm milk or hot water to 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate.
