Rose Hot Chocolate

Collections: Drinking Chocolate, Gifts, Newly released, Vday 2018

Roses have long been a symbol of love around the world. The Greeks and Romans associated the rose with the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and would lay a single wild rose on the door of a room that was not to be disturbed (ahem) This rose oil is from the Damask rose (rosa damascene), breathtakingly beautiful with a round, delicate scent. Typically it takes almost 1,000 kg of rose petals to make only 450g of rose absolute.

Made into a melty dreamy hot chocolate the addition of heat brings all the beautiful flavours together. Enough for 2 people and some.

It’s easy to make. For 2 servings...

Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in small saucepan. Add 6 tablespoons of dry mix. Reduce heat to a simmer and whisk until thick and smooth. This is your liquid chocolate.

Serve 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate “as is” in a shot glass for an intense shot.

For a traditional mug, add 3/4 cup of warm milk or hot water to 1/4 cup of liquid chocolate
