A very cute pink sorbet of purple shiso and fresh squeezed lemons whipped and spun into a fluffy pink cloud. It has all the puckery fun of perfect lemonade layered with the ever-changing flavours of purple shiso.
What is Purple Shiso? Purple shiso is used in Japanese cuisine It's flavours are a mash-up of sweet basil, mint, almonds with a teeny note of warming spices like anise and cinnamon. Its gorgeous deep colour is used to tinge ginger and cocktails, used to wrap savoury dishes and is the essential ingredient in Umeboshi plums.
We grew this shiso in our communal garden at the factory, we've a small forest of purple and green shiso so if you are passing by the factory pop out and snag some leaves of this beautiful herb.
